The MOVTI Carpentry Program uses hands on opportunity to teach the basic fundamentals of wood working including framing, interior and exterior finishing and layouts. You will gain experience in shop safety, use of tools and equipment, and handling of materials.

What You Will Learn:

• Safety: rules and procedures of all hand tools, hand power tools, stationary shop equipment, pneumatic hand tools, ladder and scaffold safety, proper material handling

• Framing: basic floor systems, layout and build walls, layout and cut rafters, roof framing, dormers, doors and windows

• Exterior and Interior Finishes: insulation, doors, windows, roofing, siding, soffits, drywall, painting, flooring, cabinet making and installation, counter tops, trim/ moldings

• Electrical, Plumbing, Concrete, Block and Brick laying, Blueprints, Estimating, Preparing for the Workforce, Resumes and Portfolios
