The Chemical, Energy, and Mechanical Technologies Program of Study prepares students for gainful employment in the Oil and Gas Industry. Depending on the specific job related needs, students will apply mathematical, scientific and problem-based learning activities that are involved in the production and distribution of oil and gas. Students will learn safety, earn their rig pass certification, and explore the soft skills needed to prepare them for gainful employment in a competitive global marketplace.

What You Will Learn:

• Renewable/NonRenewable Energy: Solar, wind, natural gas and coal systems

• Process Control Systems: Basic understanding of plant operations

• Mechanical Skills: Reading tape measure and micrometers, tool identification, aligning shafts and sheaves, disassemble/reassemble equipment

• Electrical: Basic home wiring, basic electrical symbols, ladder and wire diagrams

• Hydraulics: Basic understanding of hydraulic components and systems

• Welding: basic welding skills 1G, 2G, 2F, 3F, understanding of rod identification, basic welder setup
