This two year program is designed to provide comprehensive occupational training in common types of welding methods as related to today's welding industries. Students will learn skills and technical knowledge required to perform in a variety of entry to mid-level welding careers in manufacturing, fabrication, and others. The courses and training will prepare students to earn certifications required in several occupational fields for employment.

Program Length:

Two years

What You Will Learn:

Welding: Oxy-Fuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, air carbon arc cutting and gouging, base metal preparation weld quality, SMAW equipment and set up; shielded metal arc electrodes, SMAW beads and fillet welds, joint fit-up and alignment; SMAW groove welds with backing; SMAW open v-groove welds, GMAW and FCAW equipment and filler metals.

Blueprints: Reading welding detail drawings; basic welding symbols, properties of metals and alloys

Ornamental: Metal layout and bending, operation of the drill press, and the iron worker
